K. Kenley is a very intentional name choice for me. It's a combination of a couple of my favourite things, plus it keeps the authenticity I crave, with the K. being a nickname I've had all my life. If you've read the above section you'll know that I love good communication. But I'm not perfect, in fact, I don't believe any human could ever be perfect. Which means I don't want my characters to be anything less than human.

One of my biggest motivators to share these stories was that we don't often get a blueprint for what "healthy" relationships could be. Most of us only have our parents, TV, books, or other adults to look at. I'm not sure about you but, I personally grew up loving rom-coms and it took me a long time to realize that many of the rom-com movies I love (while extremely enjoyable) were not healthy.

With all that said; I love, love. I love the idea, the concept, and the practice. Like all novels, they are not for everyone. My books are written for those of us who've been through the wringer yet still choose kindness. They're for people who wonder what healthy could look like in a romantic relationship. And of course, they're for those of us who just want a book that feels like home. I love a deeply emotional book as much as the next person, but sometimes I want to sit down and read a novel that wraps me up so tightly I feel safe. The world has enough issues right now, I'd love for my books to be your escape, even for a little while.
